Wheelchair users facing a lot of difficulties when they go shopping, such as the shelf being too high, stairs, can’t use the trolley etc. there are many solutions for these problems, but I always have a question: where would they keep the goods after shopping? So this project aims to improve the wheelchair users shopping experience.

According to my research, there are few problems with these storage methods:

-not enough space
– dangerous
– not looking good
– too heavy

Solution

FIRST CONCEPT

Concept development

 

The first concept was redesignig the wheelchair with many storage space, but the wheelchair will become very big and hard to fold.

SECOND CONCEPT

Concept development

 

The second and final concept was designing an electric scooter with storage that can combine with a wheelchair. This is the best way to solve the problem without changing the wheelchair structure.

FINAL DESIGN

SCOOTER WITH STORAGE SPACE

 

Dynastinae is an electric pull device with storage space. It also can transform wheelchairs into a high-performance machines. 

The wheel is inspired by old mouse moving mechanism, using 2 small motor wheels to control the big sphere wheel. this setting can maximize the wheelchair turning angel.
